inspiration= motivation

Hi, my name is Mark Prevel and here is a quick intro into my life.

In 1993 and at the age of 32 l was diagnosed with the debilitating lung disease emphysema. In 1996 after being assessed for a lung transplant at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge I received three life saving lung operations of which has given me back my life.

At the age of 58 I received a book from one of my daughters that started me on a journey of amazing fitness and wellbeing, although l only have the lung capacity of an 85 year old.

Now almost 30 years on I have been able to take on unbelievable fitness challenges that even the average man would only dream of taking on.

I have run half marathons and walked many ultra challenges. Over the past few years l have been told by many folk how l have inspired them to take up exercise.

I have now decided to help the people of Guernsey by giving presentations, talks and courses on how l managed to get myself motivated to be able to take on these challenges with a restricted lung capacity.

l have also written a book of which helps the reader to understand fully why l take on these gruelling challenges, aptly called "Why the hell am I doing this".
